What's in Store for 2014

In between watching these little guys making their entrance into the world, 2014 has been a sensational year for Ranch Rustics. The web store is up and running, please DO go check it out and any input you might have is surely appreciated. There is a page for customer reviews. It's a little funky because it is more like an interactive chat page, but it's what we have to work with and I would like to thank everyone who has left comments there.

The biggest seller so far this winter, has been Whipped Tallow Body  Butter. This is an amazing product that soaks into your skin and most people claim to love it after the first time they use it. Made with tallow I have rendered from grassfed beef, combined with a couple of other beneficial oils and calendula, which has wonderful healing properties in itself.

Tallow is a perfect base for skin care as its cellular make up is basically the same as our own and goes to work immediately, something vegetable based products cannot compete with. I offer 3 fragrances, Lavender, which has benefits of its own, CoconutLime and Cool Water (men tend to like this one)

Wax tarts have gained a special place in my heart (and home... and nose!). I am now stocking tart warmers in the store because I love having all the benefits of a nice candle without the flame. They work great as nightlights and I personally,  think the scent throw on the wax tarts is stronger than the candles. They are made using clean burning and sustainable soy wax. I currently only have a few fragrances as I am waiting to see how these things sell, but I am having a wonderful time making them. I personally, love the ones I have so far, Simpy Vanilla, Chocolate Brownie, Spiced Cider, Pumpkin Spice, Cranberry Marmalade and MacIntosh Apple. I also have these in 4 and 8oz tins and 8 oz mason jar candles.

I am running a soap sale this week (Feb 24-Feb28, 2014) only. 6 bars for the price of 5 (salt bars not included). Just peruse the store, then email me with your choices. You can either pay through the online store, or I can invoice you through paypal, or if you prefer, you can mail a check. There are 2 pages of soaps online so there are many to choose from.

Another new item in the lineup is laundry soap. For those wanting to try it out, we sell a small sample size, enough to do about 10 loads.

I've recently added lip balm to the store, as it has gotten really good review from my trial testers. At this time there is only chocolate to choose from, and will possibly expand the choices in the next month or so.

Scent-sual and Luxurious Launches for 2014

Lots of new things are in the works here!  Ranch Rustics is expanding into candles, wax tarts and body butters. We still have a full inventory of soaps and have added Himalayan Salt bars which are nice, nice, nice!

And I plan to be making whipped top soaps again, for you.

Wax tarts are particularly nice, as you can use an electric tart warmer and avoid the hazards of a flame, where traditional candles aren't an option. There are warmers that plug directly into a wall, which are handy in kitchen or bath, and double as nightlights, as well as larger warmers with longer cords that are nice for living and bedroom areas.

We are working on being able to make those available to you.

We have candles in 4 oz tins which are great for traveling, or for the bath as there is no concern about breakage. 8 oz tins and jars will soon be available.

Currently, we are offering our very popular Whipped Tallow Body butter. This is made using a tallow base, which is of a similar cellular makeup as our own skin, so it is ultra nourishing in a way that vegetable based lotions and butters cannot compare to.  Using our own grass fed tallow, it is carefully rendered and to this has been added calendula and jojoba oils for an even more luxurious product.  It is available in a variety of fragrances.This will not be a FDA tested product. It is shelf stable but best if used within 6 months.

Additional lotions, lip balms and other products will be available later in the year as time allows.

Summer 2013 Soapin'

With the economy in meltdown there are still ways to pamper yourself or pamper others with homemade soap.

Unlike commercial soap, artisan soap still contains the skin pampering glycerin by-product. Along with specially chosen oils and ingredients  such as in our featured G'oatmeal MilkNHoney, Ranch Rustics soaps are specially formulated to give desired results. Coconut and Olive oils (along with others) and honey, a natural humectant which actually draws moisture to the skin, make way for a luxurious experience as well as one that is skin friendly. Goat milk soaps, made with goatmilk from our own  herd, are particularly nice as goatmilk has the same PH as human skin and is creamy and gentle. Oatmeal serves as both an exfoliant and anti-itch agent for those with dry skin.

No fragrance is added to G'oatmealMilkNHoney. Just the natural fragrance of oatmeal and honey come through.

Spring Cleaning

Spring is finally coming, the grass is starting to green up and there are more sunny days than rainy ones now. EmmaLouMoo and the sheep are enjoying grazing out in the back pasture during the day with the Maremmas keeping watch over them. It's time for me to go into heavy duty soaping mode.
